U2’s The Edge is in a property dispute with his neighbors in Malibu. Apparently, he came to the neighbors when he first bought the property and gave them the impression that he was sensitive to their concerns about the environmental impact. But now his building plans have come out that he’s going to build 5 houses on his large estate and that’s where it’s going to be. But the neighbors know the area and know that over-building can increase the risks of wildfires and erosion and other kinds of water issues. Then again, it’s his property. Then again, their property could be in danger if his slides off the “edge” of the mountain.

Posted on April 15th, 2008 at 7:25 am by Damien
Is Bono the Entertainer set to be the next Trump as Bono the Entrepreneur? Recent news reported that the affable U2 front man will be appearing before planning officials in a bid to win approval for a $237.2 million development plan to expand his Clarence Hotel.
Prior to this, Bono, along the Edge and a group of unnamed investors have cooperated with architect Sir Norman Foster and have plans to redevelop and enlarge the renowned Clarence Hotel. They are especially interested to build a massive glass atrium in the shape of a Viking long boat.
The Dublin City council has given the green light to Bono and friends but they still require final approval by An Bord Pleanala, an Irish government board in charge of planning appeals. If all goes well, the Clarence Hotel will be the first structure by Sir Norman Foster to be build in the Republic of Ireland.

Edge and Bono have been interviewed about seeing ‘U23D’ and how work on the new material is coming along.
Edge sspeaks out about his favorite part of the film being Miss Sarajevo, a song including a short opera part sung by the now deceased Luciano Pavarotti. The Edge quietly nods his head, as Bono goes on to say that even though he does not like listening to alot of his bands song on the radio he really likes Miss Sarajevo. The movie has given the band a wider perspective and clarity about what the other members of the band do onstage as well.. Bono is amazed at bassist Adam Clayton’s newfound presence on stage , while The Edge was left pondering if bassist Larry Mullen Jr. felt left out all alone up there with his drums on the top platform. Bono said that Adam really came into his own on this tour and was very assertive compared to his hermitlike ways on their last tour.
