New Concert Dates
Posted on October 27th, 2009 at 11:35 am by Damien

The U2 360 tour has added more dates in 2010. They will be touring through the summer in various parts of North America, including Chicago at the beginning of July. There are suggestions that they might add some more concerts a little later on, but it hasn’t been decided yet. They will be playing in New York City, Anaheim, Edmonton, and many other places. Their first round of U2 360 took them all over the place and sold out shows everywhere. The second round is widely expected to do the same, as many people who didn’t have the ability to catch it the first time will make sure to see them this time around. There will be many repeat customers too. Plenty of space for all you fans!
New Agey Group

U2 is a talented group of musicians who seem to be successful at relating to almost any age group. Maybe the much older folks aren’t too interested, but almost anyone else is. It’s a great time to hear them, because they’re trying out new things and really getting to the pulse of the American and world public at the moment. Bono is a particularly good spokesman for the new generation and he talks with people like President Obama frequently. They have a political agenda which many people really like. Another thing that they do is that they are able to embrace new technology. They will be on YouTube in just a few days and they have done this kind of thing before. Their website is one of the best band websites in the world. These are only a few reasons why this group is still so popular!
U2b (YouTube)

U2 will be playing in the Rose Bowl soon, and it’s going to be a great show, by all accounts. First off, it’s essentially the same show that they’ve put on in various different markets already, including the beginning of the tour in Europe and it’s been roadtested in the US as well. The challenge at this point will be whether the group can make it just as good when they get to Los Angeles. After all, LA is a tough place for lots of people to make it. But this is Bono and U2 that we’re talking about. This isn’t a band that can’t make it, they are fantastic, actually. But the big piece of news is that it’s going to be streamed live on YouTube on Sunday evening. Fun will ensue! If you haven’t seen them, or just want to see their show again, you will be able to log onto YouTube and hear their great music once again!
No Tailgating for You

U2 is coming to the University of Phoenix Stadium this week, but the officials have told us that we shouldn’t expect to tailgate there. I know some people who have been looking forward to tailgating before the concert, but they aren’t going to be allowed to. The officials there have decided that they should err on the side of caution. The main concern is probably related to the consumption of beer and such during the party before the concert. Then there could be all kinds of problems, especially with this huge sellout crowd. There will be sales of beverages in the stadium during the concert, but that’s in a more controlled environment, so that’s why the different policies inside and outside of the arena.
Dallas Show

The Dallas performance of U2 was reviewed today in USA Today and the results were not good. But before you start getting the wrong idea, the performance was just fine. The music was great as ever, but the fans’ experience wasn’t as good as had been hoped for. One of the problems is that the new Cowboys Stadium is so big that it’s hard to see the band and the music get garbled when it gets up to the higher reaches of the stadium. As a result the people who have the nosebleed seats, for example, don’t get to see them or hear them well. The reviewer describes is as being similar to when your neighbor is listening to a CD loudly. But the good news is that the music was fine. Just that it got messed up in transit. We’ll have to make sure to see them at smaller arenas if possible.
Bring on Bono!

Bono is available for hire! He is one of the best musicians in the world, but he’s quickly becoming one of the most in-demand speakers in the world. He recently put in appearances at Labour and Conservative Party conventions. He’s not centered on one particular idealogy and he will tell you everything the way it is. Bono is a fun speaker too. The reason I’m telling you all this is because it has been reported that you can get Bono to come and speak with your birthday party, business lunch, political party convention. What would be the point of having him there? It’s not really obvious what he would say or why we need him to say anything, but it’s always quite interesting to see him, whether he’s singing or speaking.
Rose Bowl

Another attendance record might be set this week when U2 plays at the Rose Bowl. Although the bowl has been hosting concerts for many decades now, not to mention major sports events, it looks like U2 will be able to set the highest record for fans at an event there in the venue’s history. It’s going to be a lot of fun to see what happens, but we don’t want to lose out on the most important part of it: we can hear great music there. If you’re in southern California and haven’t got your tickets yet, you should make sure to catch this show. It will be one-of-a-kind and perhaps the most fun you’ve had at a concert for many years!
U2 in Cowboys Stadium

The new Cowboys Stadium has been an interesting venue. They have been hoping to make it one of the world-class venues in the world of the NFL, but it has been so controversial for the last few months, ever since it was introduced, that people find that they need to stop thinking about it a bit. U2 will be selling standing-room-only tickets for their concert there this weekend and this is the first time they will be doing it. It will be good for us to see what this kind of ticket will do, but we haven’t yet found out how good it’s going to be yet. It’s apparently a bit more controversial than we had thought before and so we’ll have to keep our eyes open and I’ll be talking to my friends with those tickets to find out. If you have them, please leave a comment and I’ll let you know!
