A Record!

This weekend, Bono et al performed at Giant’s Stadium. And it was a great concert, but there was something special about it. They got over 84,000 spectators to the event, which is the biggest crowd ever assembled in the stadium. It was always a lot of fun to have people who are into the show during the performance of your favorite group. Their bunch of spectators surpassed the previous record at the stadium set by the former Pope in 1995. In the next few performances, they will be in smaller spaces and it is possibly already sold out. The proceeds from the shows will be sent to fight Aids in Africa. This tour is selling out almost all of the performances so there is a lot of extra money headed over there.
A Big Show

In Las Vegas, people are expecting U2’s tour to be an amazing show. It’s going to be very interesting to see how it works out. U2 Las Vegas tickets will let you gain admission to this one-of-a-kind show. This week, in New York, fans were very impressed by the concert that they saw. They were enjoying the music, but also the big show that they put on. With Bono practically flying onto the stage and dancing around, the various musicians moving around their specially designed CLAW stage and everything, it’s really a sight to behold. People in Las Vegas and those who are expecting to go to Vegas to see them are going to have an extra special time, because we know the U2 does different kinds of shows for Las Vegas than for other places.
U2’s Famous Fans

U2 has some famous fans. We knew that already, but the stories that came out today prove it. It’s because Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise were seen at a recent concert, dancing around and having a great time. They were interviewed afterwards and told the reporter that they have been fans for a long time and have a great time whenever they get a chance to hear the group live. They have all the records, probably, and they just enjoy the atmosphere that you can feel at a live show. As U2 works their way through the US and North American tour, it’s going to be a lot of fun for everyone out there.
Into New England

U2 has now taken New England. It’s been a lot of fun up there too. No matter if you’ve been following their music a lot lately or just happened to catch the newest set of music. You will really enjoy the program because it’s so exciting. If you haven’t seen it, imagine it with me. The show starts on this huge stage in a large stadium. You can see Bono fly in, practically, and start singing one of their classic songs. The crowd goes nuts! You can dance around with the people around you in the audience. And then they perform this great two hour mix of songs. It’s not all just upbeat crazy music, but instead there’s lots of quiet music along the way too. I don’t know if you’ve seen this show, but I promise that you will not be disappointed by it!
Chicago

From Chicago, we heard that U2’s opening concert in North America was amazing. It was rather unusual, because it was as much show as anything else. They had their big stage and a lot of unusual ways of presenting their songs. We haven’t heard anything like that in a long time. But at the same time, it was very striking. Soldier Field in downtown Chicago was pretty much full for both concerts. U2 had a lot of neon going on and Bono has figured out exactly how to do the strange stuff that get the audiences all excited. We’ll be watching for these guys to be even more fun in the upcoming weeks, as they hone their performances for their new audiences.
More info on the Claw

Many people are talking about the Claw. It will be making its debut on Saturday in Chicago’s Soldier Field. It will be fun and interesting to see how well the stadium works out with using it. Obviously, it’s going to fit and it’s one of the better concert stages that will be put into mainstream use. Why? Because you can see through it. It’s really big and seems really dangerous-looking. But it’s a 3D stage that has no sides, just a few corners. This is why people really like it. It also has a lot of different levels for Bono and others to use to make the show really interesting. I like this stage. It’s kind of frightening at first, but you’ll grow to love it by the end of the show.
What about the Website?

The U2 website has been full of updates and fun since the beginning of their tour a few months ago. They have been posting information, reviews and videos of many of their performances. They have also been having a good time with virtual versions of their huge stage and all those things. Their tour has gotten positive reviews a lot over the last few months and will continue to do so as they travel across North America this year. And their music has been some of the top-downloads this year too. Don’t believe me? Look it up, if ye doubt the claim! Don’t miss them, whether it’s on SNL or onstage. You will have a great time, I promise, because they just keep producing some of the best music in the world!
SNL!

On September 26th, make sure to watch NBC on that Saturday night. Why? There’s going to be an exciting event: U2 will be on Saturday Night Live. In other words: Live From Dublin, it’s Saturday Night!!! U2 will be joining Megan Fox on the show that evening and they will have to take a little break from their difficult tour. They are still an impressive band that will be playing their music. But will they be making jokes and performing skits? It seems doubtful, because the musical guests (especially bands) don’t usually get in on the act. But it’s going to be an entertaining show for us to see and I want you to be sure to catch it! Have you been keeping track of their tour too? They are in North America now, so you will be able to see them real soon. Get ready! It’s gonna be great!
