Poor U2. It’s been reported that they have lost 14% of their wealth in this economic downturn. But remember, they have a tour, a new album, and all kinds of other connections of things that they have put their music into. We’re not sure if that wealth is considered in these numbers, and since their album has only been out a few weeks, we should beware thinking that they are going to fold soon or anything. They are just struggling a bit like the rest of us. They will be fine in the end.

The Edge is back at the courts and in the media again in the land dispute issue in Malibu. He is still working at building his new house, but the neighbors are annoyed that the environment could be harmed by the building and the existence of a house in that spot. It would both wildlife and cause problems in the ground. Since he paid $15million dollars to buy the land in this location, we can’t blame him that he really thinks he should be allowed to build. Perhaps these complaints should have come up when he was buying the land in the first place? This wont affect his playing or anything, but it’s some of the latest rumors in the mill here.

U2 has a bad relationship with Apple right now. The band says that they have a poor relationship with the company due to their restrictive rules about licensing and such like. It’s a situation that you can see happening with several different bands right now, but most of them aren’t such huge institutions as U2 is. We really like seeing U2 do well, but it’s too bad that they wont be well-connected via Apple any longer. We hope that they will be able to get themselves otherwise released widely, and clearly their actual album is doing well. I wouldn’t worry about their situation.

U2 shows for

If you want to be in U2’s new musical based on Spiderman, you will have to attend the casting calls that are coming up from April 9 to mid-June in cities across America. There are several dates available for you to check out and it’s going to be fun if you’re an actor, particularly one in the musical theater side of things. Spiderman was written by Bono and a couple other members of U2, and it set to premier at the start of 2010. Are you ready? It’s going to be a lot of fun to watch and you will enjoy it. But first, why not try out. They will have casting calls in New York, LA, Chicago and several other cities, so there’s no excuse to miss it!
