U2 members compose songs for Broadway Musical

The forthcoming Broadway musical, Spiderman, will have the music composed by the U2 members Bono and Edge. They have together composed 18 songs for this play, which is a comic book adaptation. This Broadway musical is produced by $25 m productions and is expected to open in Broadway in October 2009. U2 is planning to release an album based on this musical and they are trying to release the album soon after the release of their next album in October this year. It was tough work for Bono and Edge as they had to write the tracks that would be apt for the Broadway play and that which will grab the audience attention to the play.

The U2 frontman is spending the little spare time he has between making a new album and saving the world by dabbling in the Which TV presenter needs to change her tune? world of art. Having composed the music for the forthcoming Broadway production of Spider-Man, Bono and the Edge will release a U2 album based on their musical adaptation of the comic books. pider-Man: The Musical is a $25m production that is due to open in New York in October 2009. Having written 18 tracks for this production, the band will rework some of the musical numbers and include them on the album, which is due to follow their next release this October. Fans are already buying tickets for this event.
U2 to Perform first at O2

U2 is the first band slated to perform at the new revamped Point, O2. Owner Harry Crosbie has big plans for the Dublin venue and wanted to reopen the venue with a bang. And after being revealed that he was close with both the band and the manager Paul McGuinness, it was little surprise as to who would play first. U2 has been using this venue for rehearsals before it even opened, so the history should set in nicely with their plans to grab the headlines in December. Fans in the Dublin area are very excited for U2 to perform and it should be another amazing performance from the legendary band.
U2 members honored Nelson Mandela

The U2 members, Bono and Edge, appeared in the 90th Bithday concert of Nelson Mandela held at Hyde Park on June 27th. The members of U2 gave a pre-recorded birthday message to Mandela and performed the Stevie Wonder’s song “Happy Birth Day” with necessary changes to suite the occasion. The video was filmed at Dublin and was perfect for the day. The U2 members were happy to appear in the 46664 concert. The band has always collaborated with celebrities and social leaders to fight against injustice and poverty and as part of their charity work; they often donate a part of the proceeds generated by ticket sales to various charity organizations.
