U2’s Bono Joins Stefani and Crow at $1.5 Million Concert

With an appearance by Paul David Hewson and a concert featuring Alicia Keys and Gwen Stefani, organizers of a Manhattan fundraiser raised $1.5 million for AIDS promised that it would not be a standard benefit fare. The 47-year-old activist and lead singer of the legendary Irish group U2, Bono, was honored at Hammerstein Ballroom. Alicia Keys, the 26- year-old R&B artist, took the stage before over a thousand guests, along with Gwen Stefani and Sheryl Crow. Tickets for dinner and the performance ranged from $100,000 for a table for ten to $5,000 for individuals. Seats in the balcony for a pre-concert cocktail party and the show were $1,000.
